Launch Night

Last Tuesday night, Tegan and I invited a few friends for an intimate gathering at the Taphouse to celebrate the launch of MOTIF Magazine.

In a small room decorated with wooden bird cages we drank boutique beer and nibbled on antipasto while we waited for 8pm to ‘go live’ with some sparkling.

Tegan presented me a really thoughtful momento of our little enterprise when I arrived.

What a doll. This whole project has taught me a lot about my cuz. Not only is she super sweet, but quite possibly a magazine magnate in the making!

Tegan and I had been apprehensive before the launch, but after a drink or two, we had settle into the evening and were toasting the official launch of our baby before we knew it.

After watching snippets of behind the scenes and unused pictures from the photo shoot in the lead, our guests were finally privy to the end result, MOTIF Magazine, First Issue – NOSTALGIA.

The reaction was fantastic and we felt very proud of our achievement.

Do our faces look particularly shiny in the photos?

Oh that’s right, I forgot, it was really hot in the room and all night I was trying to catch the cool breeze from the windows.

Other than the heat, the evening was perfect.

And now that the magazine is officially online, we are buoyed by the wonderful reception from not only our friends, but also our advertisers and readers.

Thank you to those who helped us realise our goal, thank you to the advertisers who took a chance on us, and thank you to our readers.

We look forward to your continued support, and we CANNOT wait to bring you our next issue, where we’ll be going ‘INTO THE WOODS’.
